Suhas Roy

Born in 1936 in Bangladesh,
Roy had studied at the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship. Thereafter, he went on to study Graphic Art under SW Hayter, atelier 17, Paris and Murals at Lecole Superiecure Des Beaux Arts, Paris. He also studied murals at the Ecole des beaux arts. He was the principal of the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship and retired as professor of painting from Santiniketan’s Kala Bhavan. His creations have been on display at several important exhibitions including 7th International Biennale Exhibition of Prints in Tokyo, Japan; Third Triennale, India; Exposition Des Arts etogere bousiers des, Paris and an exhibition of Indian Art in Yugoslavia, Romania, Czechoslovakia and Hungary. A member of the Society of Contemporary Artists since 1960, his “Jesus” in mixed media is in the collection of the Vatican.
