Pichai Pongsasaovapark is an artist, designer, photographer and curator who uses mixed media, acrylics, or photography to create textured and visually complex abstract work, and is often inspired by Japanese philosopher Daisaku Ikeda’s observations on art, culture and nature. His work has been shown at: Tampa Museum of Art; Gallery One (New Delhi); Kim Ba Gallery (Marseille); So Art Gallery (Amsterdam) Misho Gallery (San Francisco) Gallery on the Corner (London); the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art (Los Angeles); Subhashok Art Centre (Bangkok); Landmark Arts Building (New York); Emerge Gallery and Arts Center (North Carolina) Silicon Valley Asian Art Center (Santa Clara); Xiang Jiang Gallery (Shanghai); and the Fondazione Giorgio Cini (Venice). His work is in the Luciano Benetton Foundation Imago Mundi Collection in Milan, Italy; and he is among artists featured in the Benetton Foundation’s Thailand Spiritual and Material – Contemporary Artists from Thailand (2015).
Pichai has participated in museum study programs in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo, Brussels, Los Angeles, Marseille, Paris, San Francisco, Stockholm, and Tokyo; did a two-month residency program in San Francisco; completed a commission of an outdoor mural for the City of South San Francisco Cultural Arts Commission; and is a Gold Designer for VIDA, which has produced a line of scarves based on his photography.
