Laxman Aelay

Born in 1964 in Nalgonda District of Andhra Pradesh, Laxman Aelay obtained his BFA in Painting from JNTU College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad. The artist is the recipient of several awards and gold medals for his works.
Aelay’s recent solo shows include ‘The River Underneath’, India Fine Art, Mumbai, 2008; ‘Moods and Colours’, Fidaa Art Gallery, Singapore, 2006, and ‘Song of the Village’, Apparao Galleries, Chennai, 2005. His group exhibitions include ‘Melange’, The Harrington Street Arts Centre, Kolkata; ‘Black is Beautiful’, India Fine Art, Mumbai; ‘Symphony of Colors’, organized by Art Panache and ABN AMRO, Gurgaon; ‘Deccani Parlance’, Kaleidoscope, Baroda; ‘Beyond Boundaries’, Mahua Art Gallery, Bangalore; ‘AP Art of the Habitat’, Leela Lounge, New York; ‘Emerging India’, organized by Art Alive Gallery and SA Fine Arts, London at The Henry Moore Gallery, Royal College of Art, London, amongst many.
