Bhaskar Rao

Born 1947 – Udipi, Karnataka Bhaskar Rao was born in Udupi, Karnataka. He has won a number of awards including the Award of Honour, Karnataka Lalit Kala Akademi, Bangalore in 1996. His work is a part of several prestigious collections both in India and abroad. Prominent among these are the collections of Air India, Mumbai; Bombay Dyeing, Mumbai; Canara Bank, Bangalore; Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi; Taj Group of Hotels, India and West End Hotel, Bangalore. He has also participated in a large number of exhibitions including ‘Art Front’, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (1985); one man show at Crimson Art Resource, Bangalore (1990) and group shows in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Paris in 1996. Rao has been commissioned to do a number of murals in Bangalore like the ones for the Doddaganesha Temple, Empire Infantry and St. Marks Hotel.
